"In the great scheme of things, we are no-Thing, and Things always win."

Today's Word.A.Day is resistentialism:

resistentialism (ri-zis-TEN-shul-iz-um) noun

The theory that inanimate objects demonstrate hostile behavior against us.

If you ever get a feeling that the photocopy machine can sense when you're tense, short of time, need a document copied before an important meeting, and right then it decides to take a break, you're not alone. Now you know the word for it. Here's a report of scientific experiments confirming the validity of this theory: http://www.uefap.co.uk/writing/exercise/report/clatri.htm

Not too much sence in your comment.

>>"SPAM DUNK" CONTINUES HERE

If I thought Paul and Steveguy were going to check back, I'd compliment them, first, on their altruistic desire to help me hunt down spam, and, secondly, on their linked-to weblogs. It's so nice to see webloggers resisting the autobiographical impulse and posting on quirky niche interests -- like compiling "matches for software discounts" (Steeveguy), or explaining to you why you want overpriced backup software (Paul). Or, actually, Steveguy and Paul do both, those wunderkids, since they have the same IP address (217.106.90.197).

But this might be the beginning of comment spam that's not quite so condescending to our spam-hunting/killing skills.

I'm particularly fond of their post choice. If we're scared that machines, computers, or robots will take over the world, we can at least now get comfort from knowing that the objects of our fears are on our wavelength.

Don't take it personally, Paul. There are many bad people in the internet. Steeve just suspected you. Not too polite though, I admit.
