Blogging is not an obligation it is a gift (well, when YOU do it it is a gift— some others? hmmm kind of like those gifts you got from Aunt Alice at the holidays crocheted ballet slippers and felt vests with appliqued snowman that your mother INSISTED you wear to be polite). And, BTW, beating yourself up is bad for your mental health. You’re a goddess, damnit. Do what you like.

It’s funny — one of the major themes of blogging is the obligation felt by bloggers to post constantly, and to worry about the quality of their output. Even when, as in your case, there’s really nothing to worry about. Your XML feed tells us when you’ve updated, and we’re all willing to wait for you. Your posts are always interesting (because you’re an interesting person) and are well worth the wait.

Infrequent posting isn’t something that makes you a jackass — it’s a sign that you are in control of your blogging, instead of it being the other way around.

Write when you wanna. No one’s going to think less of you.
